Clients are patrons of the arts and avid horticulturalists who delight in living in an 18th century house. This bathroom was inspired by their gardens, and allows them to shower and bathe on a moss covered floor under a willow tree in the company of finches and bluebirds. The tile is a marble mosaic by New Ravenna, proudly manufactured in the USA.  The bathroom reflects their traditional tastes while also embracing simple contemporary cabinetry and fixtures.

This classic turn of the century dining room with exquisite molding and details will not be mistaken as inherited from your grandmother.  The design took inspiration from the sophisticated floral rug by New Moon, whose colors are highlighted with silk accents and truly brings the garden indoors.  The table is a gray painted Regency replica which accents the informality of family gatherings.  The eco friendly grass wallpaper adds texture and fresh color while the twin 18th century consoles are the perfect antiques bequeathed to the next generation.

Perfect family retreat to unwind from the busy work week.  Traditional custom built-ins and cabinetry remind one of bygone days while slipcovered furnishings keep things relaxed.  So as not to detract from the natural habitat, the interior colors and fabrics are shades of white and tan grounded by dark wenge stained floors.

The walnut kitchen cabinets provide a look of stability to an otherwise fleeting summer season.  The honed marble countertops reflect a permanence and sophistication not typically found in a beach house.

A cozy campers’ delight is expressed in the children’s wing.  Each child is given privacy behind tented bunks while a generous play area allows for romping.  Built-in window seats offer rare quiet moments for summer reading and napping.

The client asked for something no else had!  Music to the ears of any designer.  A renovated kitchen resulted in a new galley kitchen with tiles by Waterworks, and custom cabinetry by local artisan.  Antique resawn chestnut adds warmth to the floors while custom hutch gives new life to resawn white oak.  The concept breaks from tradition by locating the cooktop in front of a bay window with a sleek hood allowing for views to the outside gardens.

An old farmhouse surrounded by cows gets a colorful upgrade for the artist in residence.  A living room addition was designed by architects Archer and Buchannan with soaring views and lovely built-ins which created a beautiful backdrop for casual furnishings and antiques.  The clients requested an informal living space with contemporary English fabrics sturdy enough for dogs and children.

The dining is bathed in bright tangerines with striped linen fabric on the chairs to temper the formality.  A beautiful custom table built by local furniture maker David Iatesta shares center stage with steel sculpture by artist Dan Smokler.

The Tuscan inspired home reflects the clients’ desire for a carefree lifestyle with uninterrupted views to the exterior, highlighted by the design of a front courtyard and rear porch. The interior is painted in hues of yellows and oranges which create a sunny environment. Furnishings are sparse so as not to compete with the custom millwork and antique building materials, such as the repurposed church shutters which are the center front doors. Custom built chestnut island and walnut dining table were designed by Wayne Simpson and built by local craftsman, Chris Ferrier.
